Johannesburg - SuperSport United are desparate for momentum, according to head coach Gavin Hunt, as they prepare to face Premiership strugglers Ajax Cape Town in a midweek clash ahead of the league break.
United, three-time league champions in the last five seasons, were lying ninth in the table ahead of the 16th round of matches - the last before a near two-month hiatus for the holiday period and the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Pretoria outfit square up against Ajax, hovering just above the relegation zone, in Polokwane on Wednesday night.
“Ajax is always a tough opponent and we're expecting nothing less on Wednesday,” Hunt said ahead of the clash.
“We have been struggling and it's something we will look to put right at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“Hopefully we can get the points and take that momentum with us into the break, but for us to do that, we need to be sharp.”
With only two wins from 15 games, Hunt believed it was crucial for his side to take three points in an effort to climb into the top half of the table.
“The league hasn't been great for us so we have mixed feelings,” he said.
“The break will be good for us but let's see if we can get something on Wednesday.
“It's not ideal to have lost in our last game but that's behind us and we're focussed on our next game.”
Hunt warned his players not to take Ajax lightly, and insisted they would need to be clinical up front to beat the visiting Cape Town side.
“The team have worked hard and we have been creating chances, but it's up to them to put those chances away.
“Ajax will be looking to end off their first half (of the season) on a positive note, just like us.
“It's going to be a tough challenge but one that we are ready for.”
Elsewhere on Wednesday, Moroka Swallows host Platinum Stars in Dobsonville, Golden Arrows are at home to Orlando Pirates in Durban, while Bloemfontein Celtic face Black Leopards at Free State Stadium.
Wits play Free State Stars at Bidvest Stadium and Mamelodi Sundowns travel to Cape Town to take on Chippa United.
Table toppers Kaizer Chiefs were set to kick-off the final round of midweek fixtures against bottom feeders AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night, and Maritzburg United were set to host University of Pretoria at Harry Gwala Stadium.
