Cops appeal for help after elderly man murdered

Port Elizabeth – Centane police in the Eastern Cape are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 78-year-old man was discovered with gunshot wounds.

Police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said that the elderly man was found on Monday along the R409 Road, in Qoboqobo Village near Centane.

Manatha said the man had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body.

“His vehicle was found burnt at Plantation Forest on the way to Centane,” said Manatha.

The motive for the murder was unknown.

No arrests have been made and police were appealing to anyone who may have information about the murder to contact the Centane police.
