London - Independent Travel has a few ideas when it comes to seeing the world, and it won’t cost you the world, well, unless you get paid in pounds...

MADE IN TAIWAN

Taipei is this year's World Design Capital, and Eva Air has a sale on from Heathrow to the city throughout February. You can fly to the Taiwanese capital for £504 (about R11 000) return on a number of dates this year, including 14 March, returning 22 March. Flights are via Bangkok, but no change of plane is required (evaair.com).

ART AND SOUL

The new Hotel Joan Miró Museum, featuring 20 of the artist's original works, opens in Palma de Mallorca this month, and there are discounted rates available on the opening weekend. A three-night stay in a double room, checking in on 26 February, costs £135, room only (hoteljoanmiro.com).
