Johannesburg - The African Pride Mount Grace Spa has again been named as the Top SA Spa.

It has now won the award for the second year running.

The announcement was made at the 2016 SIX Sensational Skincare and Spalicious Recognition Awards ceremony in Johannesburg earlier this month.

“What is particularly gratifying is that the choice of African Pride Mount Grace Spa as the winning facility is based on very credible criteria. The organisers of the competition, The Spa Consultants, leaders in the spa design and development arena in South Africa, carried out mystery visits to experience what’s on offer, and they sought comments from guests.

“They also analysed the composition of the treatment menu; it’s a particularly extensive list of treatments and this must certainly have impressed the judges,” enthuses Nicholas Barenblatt, Group Marketing Manager for Protea Hotels and African Pride Hotels, proud members of Marriott International.

Being ranked number one of about 40 leading spa facilities in the country is no mean feat. According to Barenblatt, “In addition to the extensive offering at the spa, our clients love the setting. The African Pride Mount Grace Country House & Spa in Magaliesburg, Gauteng, is far enough from Johannesburg and Pretoria to be clear of the noise and pressure of the city but near enough to visit for a day.

“With stunning views of the Magaliesburg Mountains as a backdrop and wide open spaces, it’s like being in the country, far from the urban sprawl. Guests enjoy lazing in the beautiful gardens, cooling off in the 35 pools available at the hotel, and relaxing in the hot tub and the floatation pool.”

Being one of the largest hotel spas in Southern Africa, the spa is well positioned to offer a range of services, including couples’ treatment rooms and hydrotherapy in the garden.

The spa is open to day visitors too. “Booking for the day is a perfect gift for a loved one,” Barenblatt says, “or a great way for a couple to enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating time together.”
