Johannesburg - Three coaches have made it on to the list of nominees for the Absa Premiership 'Coach of the Season' award which will be made at the annual end-of-season spectacle on Monday.

First up is Premiership winning Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane. This season under the leadership of Mosimane, Sundowns won 22 matches, drew five and lost on just three occasions.

The former Bafana Bafana coach, delivered a seventh championship for the Brazilians and the most points (71) in a 16-team PSL season. It was a truly outstanding season for the 51-year-old, who was Coach of the Season twice previously (2004/05 and 2013/14).

Next on the list is Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt whose charges finished second in the league behind Sundowns. This campaign The Clever Boys won 17 matches, drew six and lost seven.

Hunt, 51, is a three-time winner of the award, all with former club SuperSport United (2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10) and has made the shortlist after another excellent season when they ended second.

Muhsin Ertugral of Mpumalanga Black Aces is the third nominee. His Aces outfit ended fourth with 12 victories, seven losses and 11 drawn matches.

Another former winner, with Ajax Cape Town in 2006/07, the 56-year-old helped AmaZayoni punch well above their weight to finish in the top four. A squad of few stars, the Turkish-born Ertugral was responsible for the blooding of several youngsters as Aces proved to be one of the biggest surprises of the season.
