Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has admitted his team were “lethargic” during Saturday's 2-0 loss against Chippa United.

As a result of the defeat, Chiefs finished in fifth position on the Absa Premiership log.

The Amakhosi coach, however, prefers not to look backwards. Instead he wants to look to the future. “We bury this season. It's a closed book now. We move on.” Komphela feels that the Chippa game was more of a summary of the season.

“Our performances were fine most of the season, but too many matches finished in a draw as we, often mysteriously, failed to score.

“Overall, we can't be pleased when looking back on the past season,” Komphela concluded, “despite reaching two cup finals.”

Chiefs finished the season with 46 points from 30 matches.
