SABC acquires the rights to screen Euro 2016

Johannesburg - Soccer fans throughout South Africa will be delighted at the news that the SABC has acquired the rights for Euro 2016, for its TV and Radio stations.

The SABC's Chief Operations OfficerHlaudi Motsoeneng said: “The acquisition of these rights is aimed at ensuring that SABC Sport will continue to deliver high-quality football matches to our fans during the PSL off season”.

“SABC Sport will continue to use the talent from the Laduma team and SABC radio commentary team respectively to make sure that it continues to deliver this event to our audiences in the tone and language they understand,” added Motsoeneng.

The tournament is taking place in France and will kick off on June 10. Matches will be live on SABC 1 and on SABC radio stations.

The matches that will be live are made up of 12 high profile selected matches from the 24 teams taking part in the event. The final will take place on July 10
