Johannesburg - Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu was recuperating at George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Pretoria after receiving treatment, the department said on Friday.
Spokesman Steve Mabona said Mahlangu was admitted on Wednesday.
“She complained about her health just before a public meeting in Tshwane. She was rushed to the hospital and admitted for observation, and after observations, her doctors were confident that she would be discharged in due course,” he said.
Mahlangu, Premier David Makhura, Tshwane Mayor Kgosientsho Ramokgopa and other public officials were conducting site visits at the time when Mahlangu fell ill, Mabona said.
