Johannesburg - 'Pick wisely!” That was the advice American R&B singer Anthony Hamilton said he'd offer to any ANC delegate headed to the party's 53rd national elective conference in Mangaung this weekend.
Hamilton flew into the country on Wednesday ahead of this weekend's Reconciliation Day concert on Sunday at the Bloemfontein Showgrounds, which he will be headlining.

Speaking to The Star at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, the R&B crooner said: “I have my opinions on why I chose the president I did to be elected. In terms of you guys and your government, I'm not that familiar about what happens here, but pick wisely and hopefully you'll get somebody who'll be for the people.”
The 41-year-old star has earned himself two Grammy Award nominations for next year's 55th Annual Grammy Awards; one for Best R&B Album for his latest album Back To Love and another for Best R&B Song for his hit single off the album, Pray For Me.
This is Hamilton's second time in the country this year, following the success of his Back to Love tour in August.
“The reception in South Africa has been really great. I felt like the black Justin Bieber!” he said, laughing.
“It means the music has touched somebody other than myself and somebody is listening.”
Hamilton also had good wishes for Nelson Mandela, who was admitted to hospital in Pretoria on Saturday.
He said: “I just want to let the family know he [Mandela] will never be forgotten.”
With seven albums under his belt and more than 20 music award nominations, Hamilton credits his success to being honest with himself and with music.
“Also, having the right team keeps you going in the right direction.”
Sunday's concert will also feature some of the country's finest musician, such as Khuli Chana, Pro, Zahara, Moneoa, Ringo Madlingozi and Rebecca Malope.
The concert starts at 4pm. tickets are available at Computicket from R200 to R1 800 for the VIP tent.
