Johannesburg - Radovan Krejcir’s murder trial was delayed on Wednesday because a Correctional Services strike at Johannesburg Prison meant one of the accused couldn’t make it to court.

Krejcir, Siboniso Miya, Nkanyiso Mafunda, Siphiwe Memela and Borislavov Grigorov have all been charged with the 2013 murder of Sam Issa, who was gunned down in his car in Bedfordview.

On Monday, the State provided the court with an explosive affidavit in which a witness in the case, Lucky Mokwena, alleged there had been a plot to kidnap billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe. The document stalled the trial on Tuesday, as the defence representing Krejcir and his co-accused needed time to consult their clients about the new evidence.

On Wednesday, the affidavit caused further delays in the morning after the prosecution and defence legal teams were seen arguing about the affidavit’s release to The Star. The Star
