Durban - Four men linked to a house burglary on a church's premises in Ezinqoleni have been arrested, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.

The men, aged between 25 and 35, were taken into custody in three different townships Ä Umlazi, Umzinto and Ezinqoleni Ä on Monday morning, Captain Thulani Zwane said.

The four armed men broke into a house on the premises of the St Paul Mission church on January 7, and demanded cash from the occupants.

They stole five cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash from a safe. A firearm, believed to have been used in the robbery, was seized and sent for ballistic tests.

Zwane said the four would appear in the Ezinqoleni Magistrate's Court on charges of house robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Wednesday. - Sapa
