Cape Town - The body of a young woman was found in Beacon Hill, Atlantis, on Tuesday morning, Cape Town police said.
“A resident in Atlantis was on his way to work when he saw the body of a young lady in the bushes,” Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana said.
The 19-year-old was found at 7am. No arrests had been made.
Another 19-year-old woman was raped and murdered in Kraaifontein, near Cape Town over the weekend.
Her body was found in the drawer of a bed in a flat on Saturday. Police suspect she had been strangled.
The murders come in the wake of a public outcry following the rape and murder of Bredasdorp teenager Anene Booysen.
Booysen, 17, was gang-raped and disembowelled after visiting a club on Friday, February 1. She was found at the Asla construction site where she worked, not far from her RDP home, the next morning. She died later that day. - Sapa
