German tuner creates 500kW Merc C 63

Forget the power war that takes place between the German AMG, M Power and RS divisions, there's a far higher degree of insanity going on amongst the tuners - this C 63 by German tuner Väth a case in point.

The Väth V63 Supercharged was designed for those individuals who feel that a Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe should have nothing less than 500kW on tap.

To raise its outputs from the standard model's 358kW/600Nm to 500kW/840Nm, the tuner threw in a water cooled supercharger, toyed with the engine management system, beefed up the oil cooling and threw in some high-flow catalytic converters.

A stainless steel exhaust has also been thrown in for good measure.

The result? A zero to 100km/h sprint of four seconds on the dot, according to Väth, and a top speed of 335km/h.

Naturally, the V63 sits lower to the ground thanks to a coilover suspension system that enables the ride height to be lowered by between 20 and 65mm.

Just so the rest of the world knows that your AMG is far from standard (and arguably far from tasteful), the tuner has kitted it out with bespoke 20-inch alloys and an aerodynamic body kit that includes a huge rear diffuser with carbon fibre fins.

Talking carbon fibre, there's plenty of it in the cabin, along with a unique steering wheel and a speedo that's calibrated to 360km/h.
