Seoul, South Korea - The all-new Kia Cee'd family car, due in SA in before the end of 2007, has earned a five-star safety rating in Euro NCAP crash testing.

The Cee'd safety ratings - five stars for adult protection, four for child protection and two for pedestrian protection - place it among the C-segment's safest cars.

Yong-Hwan Kim, a senior executive with Kia, said: "The result is a landmark achievement for us. The Cee'd was designed and is assembled in Europe to meet the expectations of European buyers in all respects - including safety.

"The combination of talents, plus the five-star safety rating and a seven-year warranty, will make the cars even more attractive to buyers."

The Cee'd five-door hatch has six crash bags as standard.

The Cee'd family will, from September, include a wagon and a three-door hatch will be launched at the upcoming Frankfurt auto show.
