Johannesburg - Grant Thornton Johannesburg chief executive Andrew Hannington has resigned his position after more than two years at the helm, the company said yesterday.

Hannington will leave the company as both the chief executive and a partner at the end of January next year.

The company’s chairman of group governance board Paul Badrick will fill the position of acting chief executive until a replacement has been appointed.

Hannington would pursue new challenges in an advisory capacity, particularly in the field of corporate finance, focused on listings and transaction advisory services.

Hannington was appointed to the post in 2013.
